0:07A scrub fire at Wairu reignited after the Defense Force thought it was extinguished.0:11Military and civilian firefighters are still working to bring it under control.0:15Light rain and lower winds have helped, but crews remain committed on the ground and0:18in the air.0:19How much progress have they made since the fire came back?0:22The fire is burning in the Wairu military training area, near the desert road on the0:26Central Plateau.0:27That road forms part of State Highway One.0:29The Defense Force says live fire training started the blaze.0:33The fire's return overturned the earlier belief that it had been put out.0:36The Defense Force says it initially burned during training on Sunday, October20,5 ,0:41before reigniting on Monday morning.0:43Nobody has explained why it reignited.0:45The Defense Force described Sunday's fire as having been thought controlled and0:49extinguished.0:49Monday brought a renewed emergency response.0:52By Tuesday afternoon, firefighters were still working across the fire ground, even0:56as the weather helped reduce active burning.0:58Fire in emergency responded at about ten fifteen on Monday morning.1:01Crews from Wairo Tiranji and Southern Lakes were among those attending.1:05As the fire expanded through the day, the response involved both firefighting crews1:09and defense force personnel.1:11Monday's response included five helicopter crews and nine firefighting crews1:14alongside thirteen Defense Force staff.1:16Those figures describe crews and individual military staff separately.1:20They describe Monday's operation.1:22Tuesday's update didn't give a fresh deployment count.1:24One mid-afternoon description put the flames across an area about four hundred by1:29four hundred meters.1:30Separately, the Defense Force estimated about two hundred and thirty hectares had1:33burned in the afternoon.1:34Those descriptions don't provide a reliable, like for like measure of how quickly1:39the fire spread.1:40Motorists recorded large plumes of smoke south and north of Wairu Township.1:44Fire and emergency shift manager Becca Jennings described a fairly isolated1:48fireground on Monday, with no reported injuries and no threat to nearby buildings or1:52the desert road.1:53A separate fire and emergency safety assessment on Monday said there were no1:56concerns for anyone's safety.1:58Current traffic restrictions on the desert road still need confirmation.2:01The evening size estimate needs care.2:03It used ambiguous wording and paired measurements that aren't equivalent.2:07The afternoon estimate of about two hundred thirty hectares and the later evening2:10figures remain separate estimates rather than points on a precise growth curve.2:14The evening estimate of about one point five square kilometers came with a2:18conflicting figure, two hundred and thirty eight hectares, but one point five square2:22kilometers equals one hundred fifty hectares, and two hundred thirty eight hectares2:26equals two point three eight square kilometers.2:29The definitive evening area still needs confirmation.2:31A later Monday estimate also put the area at about two hundred thirty-eight2:35hectares.2:36That doesn't resolve the conflicting units in the evening description, or tell us2:40how much farther the fire spread overnight.2:42The Defense Force warned on Monday that the blaze could take a further twenty-four2:45hours to extinguish.2:46That estimate left crews facing more work after the fire's return.2:50Firefighting continued into Tuesday afternoon.2:52Tuesday's improvement came from light rain and lower winds.2:55Fire and emergency said those conditions had reduced the extent of active fire.2:59That describes less active burning across the fire ground, rather than a new3:03measurement of the total land already burned.3:05By Tuesday afternoon, crews had made progress in better weather, but fire and3:09emergency hadn't declared the blaze contained.3:12Military and civilian firefighters continued working together, with ground and3:15aerial crews tackling separate parts of the fire ground.HeyDexで調べるRSSでフォローショート動画ショート動画 ↗
