[music]0:43Zero.0:45The toll is still being counted this0:48hour. [music] At least 25 people are0:50confirmed dead, 18 in Kyiv and seven in0:53Vishneve,0:54>> [music]0:54>> just southwest of the capital.0:56At least 119 others are wounded,0:59including seven children.1:01The strikes hit Kyiv and the town of1:03Vishneve.1:04Around 30 residential buildings across1:06the capital were damaged or destroyed.1:09In Kyiv's [music] Podilskyi district, an1:11entire family was pulled from the1:13wreckage of a partially collapsed1:14[music] apartment building.1:16And in Vishneve, more than 600 residents1:18were evacuated because [music] of the1:20threat of a secondary detonation. This1:22was the second mass bombardment [music]1:24in four days. A strike on July 2 killed1:2731 people.1:29And the reason these ballistic missiles1:31are getting through is no mystery.1:33Colonel Ihnat delivered that stark1:35admission as the rubble was still being1:37cleared.1:39>> [music]1:39>> Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov went1:42further.1:43He revealed that fewer Patriot1:44interceptors [music] are produced1:46globally each month than Russia fires at1:48Ukraine in that same period. He has now1:50sent urgent requests to nearly 401:52[music] partner countries asking for1:54immediate transfers of interceptors from1:56their stockpiles.1:57>> [music]1:58>> Ukraine has the Patriot launch systems,2:00but faces what Colonel E Nut called a2:03[music] serious deficiency of2:04interceptor missiles, and it is not just2:07Ukraine. The shortage is worldwide.2:10Russia is exploiting [music] a gap in2:11Western production at a scale never seen2:14before. President Zelensky is attending2:17the NATO summit in Ankara in person, and2:19he urged allies to leave with what he2:21called strong decisions on strengthening2:23Ukraine's air defense. [music]2:25The attack also knocked out power in2:28parts of the Sumy, Kharkiv, [music]2:30and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and damaged2:32energy infrastructure in towns [music]2:34outside Kyiv. Rescue crews are still2:37searching the rubble tonight. The2:39Kremlin timed this barrage to send a2:41message, [music] and that message was2:43received in Ankara before the first2:45session was even gaveld in. The question2:47now is whether this [music] summit2:49produces an answer.Explore with HeyDex
