Where it stands

On September 30, 2026, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell released the report, documenting abuse allegations involving 944 children and more than 270 Catholic clerics in the Fall River, Springfield and Worcester dioceses. It found that dioceses knew children were being abused and too often failed to act; the investigation will produce no new indictments.
