Update 1 of 1LatestDay 1
Mistwood Golf Course fire drew multiple agencies; all-clear unverified
A neighbor described smoke and flames worsening at the Benzie County course. The township’s request to avoid the area has no verified all-clear or renewal.
What we knew first
- The township department asked people to avoid Mistwood Golf Course’s area and reported a multiagency fire response.
Still open then
- Whether the avoidance request remains in effect, what property burned, whether anyone was hurt and whether the fire was contained or extinguished remain unverified.
We said we'd watch for
- A dated departmental update lifting or renewing the request would establish whether people still need to keep clear for emergency access.
