司法 · 存在争议的炮弹巴新警方认定军用炮弹，反驳中国称其为酒瓶的说法文字 2026年11月5日 UTC 10:47文字实录0:07Bomb specialists x-rayed a military projectile that China's embassy called a0:12harmless wine bottle.0:14Four Chinese nationals have been arrested over the discovery, and police and0:18military specialists removed the object for examination.0:22The investigation now turns on what the projectile contained and how it reached a0:26shipping container.0:27The object was found in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea's capital.0:31It reportedly weighed thirty-two kilograms and sat inside a shipping container0:36associated with a construction site.0:38The location has also been described as a wharf.0:41Explosive ordnance specialists cordoned off the area and took the object away for0:46analysis.0:47That brought police bomb technicians and defense personnel into a case the Chinese0:52embassy would describe very differently.0:55The sequence separates the seizure from the arrests and the later public dispute.0:59Police seized it on October twenty-ninth.1:02Four arrests reportedly followed on October thirtieth.1:05The embassy described a harmless bottle on November third.1:09Now the commissioner has identified military ordnance, shifting attention to the1:14findings of the specialists who examined it.1:16The commissioner's identification gives the investigation a firmer starting point.1:22Police are dealing with a military projectile.1:25The more detailed claim that it still contained explosives needs to be understood1:29separately, because the commissioner's public confirmation identifies the object1:35without expressly confirming that it remained live.1:38Police Commissioner David Manning identified the object as a one hundred thirty1:42millimeter military projectile.1:44He said the police bomb unit and Papua New Guinea Defense Force Explosive Ordnance1:49Disposal Personnel examined it, including with an X-ray.1:52Manning said the investigation continued and warned against speculation.1:57The Chinese embassy based its explanation on an on-site check by the company2:02involved.2:03It described a shell-shaped wine bottle.2:05And offered an unequivocal assurance about safety.2:09That company inspection ununderpinned the embassy's position.2:13While police specialists were pursuing their own examination, the embassy said it2:18poses no danger at all.2:20It also argued that China's strict firearm controls made it virtually impossible for2:25an illegal military-grade shell to be smuggled out.2:29Those rules alone can't explain this object's contents or journey.2:33The embassy said local police were being kept fully updated while it awaited the2:38investigation's findings.2:40Its explanation rested on the company's check.2:43Police and military specialists used equipment designed to examine a potentially2:49dangerous object, including an X-ray machine donated by Australia.2:54The object was reportedly an undetonated Chinese type fifty-nine artillery2:58projectile containing an explosive filling and a fuse.3:02Specialists reportedly completed their analysis on November third and passed it to3:06criminal investigators.3:08The detailed technical findings haven't been publicly released in full.3:12For anyone working near the container, explosive contents would make specialist3:17handling essential.3:18The cordon and removal show that specialists took protective action.3:22The case also drew a diplomatic intervention from the United States, whose embassy3:27said it had contacted the unit that examined the object.3:31The U.S.3:31Embassy said it had directly engaged with the explosive ordnance disposal unit.3:36It described the findings as indicating an unexploded projectile.3:41Its statement said, This is a serious public safety matter.3:44Papua New Guineans deserve accurate information and a thorough investigation.3:49The US Embassy also praised Papua New Guinea's police and defense personnel, and3:55pledged support for its security and sovereignty.3:58The intervention comes amid USChina competition for influence in the Pacific.4:03The technical investigation still belongs to Papua New Guinea's authorities.4:07Investigators still have to trace how the projectile entered the container and who4:12was responsible.4:13The reported Chinese Type59 identification gives them a type to investigate.4:18The nationality of the four arrested people doesn't supply a shipment history.4:23Police have identified military ordinance.4:26While the detailed explosive identification remains reported, they haven't explained4:31the four arrested people's current legal status or announced formal charges.4:35Investigators also haven't said what happened to the projectile after examination,4:40including whether it was diffused or destroyed.阅读文章事件时间线HeyDex
