健康 · Wisconsin measlesSouthwest Wisconsin measles: Infant dies in state's first measles death since 1990文字 2026年11月5日 下午9:09 [UTC]觀看逐字稿0:07An infant has died of measles in southwestern Wisconsin.0:11Nine people have needed hospital care, and Wisconsin has its largest case count in0:16more than thirty-five years.0:17Whether transmission and severe illness keep rising beyond the latest statewide0:22count is still unresolved.0:24The infant's death is Wisconsin's first reported measles fatality in thirty-six0:29years.0:30Going back to nineteen ninety, the coroner listed measles as the immediate cause of0:35death.0:35State health officials disclosed the death on November5.0:39More than three hundred and fifty cases have been reported in southwestern Wisconsin0:44over the past several months.0:46Across the whole state, health officials counted four hundred and thirty-one0:50confirmed cases in thirteen counties.0:53As of November third, those figures cover different geographic areas.0:57The statewide count predates the death announcement by two days.1:01Officials described the death as recent, but haven't given its precise date.1:06They've withheld the child's identity, exact location, and further family details to1:11protect the family's privacy.1:13The baby's exact age and vaccination history also haven't been disclosed.1:18Wisconsin Health Secretary Kirsten Johnson said her heart was broken for the family.1:22She called the death of a child a tragedy, especially from a vaccine-preventable1:27disease, and urged people to evaluate their risk and protect their families.1:32All but three of Wisconsin's four hundred thirty-one cases involved unvaccinated1:36people.1:36That's four hundred and twenty-eight cases.1:39Nine people required hospitalization for severe symptoms, and the actual number of1:44infections could be higher because some people who become ill don't seek medical1:49care or get tested.1:51Wisconsin has delivered two thousand vaccine doses to local health departments in1:56areas with confirmed cases since August first.2:00Health providers have administered more than forty-two thousand doses.2:04Over that period, the figures track separate activities, delivery to departments,2:09and vaccination by providers.2:11The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella.2:15The usual schedule starts with a dose at twelve to fifteen months.2:19Children then receive a second dose between ages four and six.2:23Wisconsin also issued a November third health alert about early vaccination for2:28infants in outbreak-affected communities.2:31One dose is about ninety-three percent effective at preventing measles.2:35Two doses are about ninety-seven percent effective.2:38Vaccination greatly reduces the chance of infection, though some vaccinated people2:43can still become infected.2:45Infants six to eleven months old who live in or travel to high-risk outbreak areas2:50may qualify for an early dose.2:52Families should discuss that option with a clinician.2:55Routine vaccination starts later, so the statewide vaccination figures alone can't2:59tell us whether this baby was old enough for a routine dose.3:03Vasals can begin with a cough.3:05Runny nose and red watery eyes.3:07Fever can reach one hundred and four degrees Fahrenheit.3:10Those early symptoms can come before the rash that many people associate with the3:15disease.3:16Two to three days after symptoms begin.3:18Tiny white spots called coplic spots may appear inside the cheeks.3:23A rash can follow three to five days after symptoms start.3:27It usually begins on the face at the hairline.3:29The rash can spread down to the neck, chest, and stomach, then the arms, legs, and3:34feet.3:35Fever may climb above one hundred and four degrees when it appears.3:39These are general warning signs families should recognize.3:42Unvaccinated people aged six months and older who've been exposed should contact a3:47clinician or local health department immediately.3:50Prompt treatment after exposure can prevent disease or reduce its severity.3:54The danger extends well beyond Wisconsin.3:57The U.S.3:58has reportedly recorded more than four thousand eight hundred confirmed infections4:03in twenty twenty-six.4:04Its highest annual number since1991.4:07Infections have occurred in almost every state.4:10The reported national death tally is eight, including six in Pennsylvania, one in4:15New York, and this infant in Wisconsin.4:19Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have announced their deaths directly.4:22The eight-death figure combines reported state totals.4:26At least ninety-six percent of reported U.S.4:28cases involved people who were unvaccinated or whose vaccination history was4:32unknown.4:33Measles had been declared eliminated in the United States in two thousand.4:37Twenty-six years later, communities are confronting outbreaks large enough to put4:42people in hospital and claim lives.4:45Mosconsin's November3 snapshot can't show whether transmission or severe illness4:50rose afterward.4:51Health officials will need later counts to measure that families facing an exposure4:57should seek help immediately because treatment can prevent measles or make the5:02illness less severe.閱讀文章事件時間軸HeyDex誰報導了什麼多家媒體報導的要點Infant death from measles3 家媒體Wisconsin measles case
