政治 · California governorCalifornia governor election: Becerra projected to win, Hilton concedes文字 2026年11月4日 下午9:40 [UTC]觀看逐字稿0:07Steve Hilton conceded defeat and wished Xavier Bacerra well.0:11Democrat Basera is projected to become California's first directly elected Latino0:17governor, succeeding term limited Gavin Newsom.0:20Becerra would inherit high housing costs, pressure on healthcare funding, and0:26conflict with the Trump administration over immigration and environmental policy.0:31What would his affordability pledge mean for housing, healthcare, and California's0:36confrontation with Washington?0:38Becerra is projected to become the state's forty-first governor after the November0:43third election.0:45The result still awaits certification, and his expected first day in office is0:50January4,2027.0:53The race was called as polls closed.0:56Hilton conceded shortly before nine fifteen that night, speaking to about eight1:01hundred supporters in Garden Grove.1:03He acknowledged that Basera would be the next governor.1:06And wished him well.1:07Hilton told his supporters.1:09We have a new governor of California.1:12He also promised to help Republicans break the Democratic legislative supermajority1:17in2028 .1:18The fight goes on.1:19He said, We have a plan.1:21Hilton's concession settles his response to the projected defeat.1:26Election officials still have to complete the count and certification.1:30The size of Bizera's final winning margin remains unsettled.1:34An uncertified snapshot puts Bizera at sixty-three point nine percent, and Hilton at1:39thirty-six percent.1:41The tracker estimated fifty-nine point two seven percent counted, but its cutoff and1:46counting base are unclear.1:48Those figures can change as officials finish counting.1:50Bizerra's projected victory also carries a precise historical distinction.1:56He would be the first Latino governor, chosen directly by California voters.2:00Ramualdo Pacheco held the office more than a hundred and fifty years earlier.2:05Pacheco became governor through succession.2:08He had been lieutenant governor when Newton Booth left for the United States Senate.2:13Becerra would be the first Latino governor since Pacheco, and the first directly2:18elected to the office.2:20Pacheco served from February twenty-seventh through December ninth, eighteen2:24seventy-five.2:25That earlier tenure belongs in California's history alongside this projected2:29milestone.2:31Today, Latinos make up more than forty percent of the state's population, and2:35roughly a third of its voters.2:37Bizarra, sixty-eight, grew up with his parents and three sisters in a six hundred2:42and eighty-five square foot house in working-class Sacramento.2:46His father worked on farms and construction sites.2:49His Mexico-born mother was a clerical worker.2:52Becerra went to Stanford, represented Los Angeles in Congress, and chaired the2:57Congressional Hispanic Caucus.2:59He later became California Attorney General and President Biden's Health Secretary,3:04Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris.3:07Backed his campaign.3:09Hilton entered the race as a conservative commentator and former British political3:14strategist with President Trump's endorsement.3:18Both finalists advanced from a crowded field.3:21Visera's rise followed Eric Swalwell's April withdrawal amid sexual assault3:27and misconduct allegations, which Swalwell denied.3:31Visera received about twenty-eight percent in June, Hilton about twenty-five3:35percent, and billionaire Tom Stier about twenty-three percent by an October likely3:41voter poll.3:42Bizera led Hilton sixty-one to thirty-four percent.3:45That poll measured support before election day.3:48Bizera addressed his election night gathering in West Sacramento, and paid tribute3:54to his parents and labor organizer Dolores Huerta.3:57I didn't run to make history, he said.4:00He said he ran to serve everyone who calls California home, including people who4:05voted against him.4:06Visera summed up his mission this way.4:09Deliver a California we can afford and defend a California we can't afford to lose.4:15His campaign paired promises to lower everyday costs with a commitment to preserve4:20the clean energy transition.4:21The candidates disagreed sharply about how to lower costs.4:25In their only one-on-one debate in September, Becerra argued Hilton's tax4:30proposals would make it harder for working families.4:33Hilton argued that lower taxes would leave residents with more money.4:37Hilton proposed ending state income taxes on the first hundred and fifty thousand4:41dollars of income and repealing the gasoline tax.4:45He also proposed capping housing development fees and creating ten new cities to4:50encourage construction.4:51Hilton blamed climate regulations for high gasoline prices.4:56Becerra promised lower costs while keeping California's clean energy transition.5:02On housing, Becerra wants to protect prospective buyers from being outbid by5:07investors.5:08And enforce laws requiring local governments to allow more homes.5:13Visera also proposes reducing construction red tape and expanding access to down5:18payment assistance.5:20He plans to declare a housing emergency and accelerate building.5:24Those are the tools he's promising to use against high housing costs.5:28On immigration, Becerra pledged to uphold California's Sanctuary state law, which he5:34defended against Washington as Attorney General.5:37Governor Jerry Brown signed it in2017 .5:39Hilton opposed that law and supported full state cooperation with immigration5:45enforcement.5:46Hilton also spoke of securing the border and trying to lower the temperature around5:51immigration.5:52Visera's projected victory points toward continued state resistance to federal5:57enforcement demands, alongside California's broader disputes with Washington over6:03environmental policy.6:04Their homelessness plans also diverged.6:07Hilton proposed eliminating encampments by the end of twenty twenty-seven and6:11creating a statewide network of homeless recovery centers.6:15Bizera said progress hadn't been good enough and emphasized prevention and mental6:20health services.6:21Both candidates supported keeping film production in Los Angeles, though Hilton6:26blamed Democratic leaders for productions leaving.6:28Bizera also faces preparations for international visitors to the twenty twenty-eight6:34Olympics and decisions about the growth of artificial intelligence.6:38Healthcare will put a price on the affordability plan.6:41Potential federal healthcare cuts could reach as much as thirty billion dollars.6:46That's a risk facing the incoming administration, rather than a loss already booked.6:51Protecting coverage would force Basera to confront that pressure in state budget6:55negotiations.6:56He'll also inherit decisions about who pays when major wildfires destroy7:01communities, alongside disaster preparation and response.7:06His projected arrival.7:07Would put leaders from working-class immigrant backgrounds at the center of7:11negotiations among the governor, assembly speaker, and state senate president.7:17Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas said the standard should be results.7:21History is going to remember us because we made a difference, he said.7:26We want California to work for everybody.7:29Vizera's affordability agenda starts with faster home building and protecting health7:33coverage, while preserving the state's resistance to Washington on immigration.7:38The next named transition milestone is January4 th,2027, when he's7:44expected to take office.閱讀文章事件時間軸HeyDex誰報導了什麼多家媒體報導的要點Becerra wins California governor’s race4 家媒體Becerra as California’s first Latino governor3 家媒體Becerra succeeds Gavin Newsom as governor2 家媒體僅一家媒體報導的要點9僅KTLA Los
