政治 · Texas governorshipTexas governor election: Hinojosa defeats Abbott, first Latina elected文字 2026年11月5日 下午3:32 [UTC]逐字稿0:07Gina Hinojosa defeated Greg Abbott in the Texas governor's race.0:11She'll become the state's first Latina governor, ending a Republican run of about0:15thirty-two years.0:17Her promises reach public schools, household budgets, and the power grid.0:22How much can she deliver when the biggest changes still need lawmakers?0:26Hinojosa has five thousand two hundred thirty thousand seven hundred eighty-nine0:30votes in the preliminary count, against Abbott's four thousand five hundred0:34twenty-four thousand five hundred twenty-seven.0:37That gives her approximately fifty-two point eighty percent to his forty-five point0:42six seven percent.0:43These totals still await the final certified canvas.0:46Her lead is seven hundred six, two sixty-two votes, about seven point one three0:52percentage points.0:53The contest contains nine thousand nine hundred and seven three hundred and0:57eighty-one votes across seven candidates, including Libertarian Pat Dixon and1:03four write-ins.1:04That's the governor race total.1:06Rather than a statewide turnout figure, Abbott accepted the outcome while ballots1:10were still being counted.1:12He said, There are still votes to be counted, but mathematically, we're not going to1:18be able to win this election.1:19He said he'd examined every county before calling Hinohosa to congratulate her, and1:25offered to help her team through the transition.1:27She confirmed that conversation.1:29Earlier incomplete returns had shown her ahead, while rural results were still1:33arriving.1:34The count moved from a lead to a decided race.1:37Republican governors will have held the office for about thirty-two years.1:41By the January handover, Anne Richards left in nineteen ninety-five, when George W.1:47Bush succeeded her.1:48The thirty-six-year gap runs between Democratic election victories in nineteen1:53ninety and twenty twenty-six.1:54Miriam Amanda Ferguson became Texas's first woman governor in nineteen twenty-five.2:00Richards served from nineteen ninety-one to nineteen ninety-five.2:04Hinojosa adds a different milestone.2:06As the first Latina elected to the office, Abbott's defeat stops his bid for a2:11fourth term.2:12He took office in twenty fifteen and won each previous governor's race by double2:17digits.2:18His concession described twelve years of service.2:21At this election, he'd serve nearly twelve.2:24Hinojosa began with limited money and name recognition, and little substantial2:29National Party backing.2:31A former school board president, she's represented in Austin District.2:35Since2017, Abbott had been expected to win another term.2:39Abbott's campaign spent eighteen dollars since twenty twenty-five.2:43Elon Musk also spent tens of millions backing Republicans more broadly.2:48Hinojosa beat an incumbent with a major financial advantage, campaigning on2:53household costs, public schools, and the influence of wealthy interests.2:58She accused Abbott of favoring the wealthy and failing to lower costs.3:03He accused her of wanting higher taxes and called her a radical.3:07A former vice chair of the Texas Legislative Progressive Caucus and defender of3:12transgender rights.3:14She emphasized a populist economic argument.3:17Her ads included Republican voters supporting her.3:20President Donald Trump blamed Abbott after the defeat, calling him a rhino, meaning3:26Republican in name only.3:28Trump wrote, He went back to his original formula, and it wasn't pretty.3:33Abbott had already conceded and offered transition assistance.3:36Hinojosa told her Austin victory gathering.3:39It never bothered me that they doubted me.3:42It bothered me that they doubted us.3:44She followed that with, Texas, my faith in you never wavered.3:49She declared, Tonight we won, and said, Government belongs to the people.3:54Describing her upbringing along the Texas-Mexico border, she told supporters their3:59lives could be bigger than their dreams.4:01She called the result a mandate for change.4:04Texas Democratic Party chair Kendall Scudder.4:07Described a campaign across all two hundred and fifty-four counties.4:11Party leaders and Latino advocates credited organizing and Latino voters.4:16Those assessments don't isolate how much any one group or campaign issue contributed4:21to Hinojosa's margin.4:22Hinojosa campaigned for more public school funding and higher teacher pay.4:27She promised to stop treating public schools as if they were for sale.4:31She also pledged to end no-bid contracts.4:34Delivering those promises requires decisions after she takes office.4:38Abbott signed the voucher law in May twenty twenty-five.4:42It took effect that September, with a launch planned for twenty twenty-six.4:47The program carries one billion dollars over two years and provides about ten4:52thousand dollars for participating private school students.4:55The controller administers those education savings accounts for approved expenses.5:00Hinojosa favors repeal, which needs legislative support.5:04She'll work with a changed house dominated by Democrats.5:08While Republican lawmakers remain consequential to negotiations, Inehosa can use5:13vetoes and agency appointments to shape government.5:17Repealing an existing statute still takes legislation.5:20Appointments during a Senate session need approval from two-thirds of senators5:25present, and recess appointments face later Senate consideration.5:29Inehosa's proposed refund would pay one thousand five hundred dollars per household5:35at a cost of about seventeen billion dollars.5:37A competing description makes every resident eligible.5:41Paying thirty-two million individuals would instead cost about forty-eight billion5:46dollars.5:46Her July announcement proposed household payments.5:50She called it the corruption tax refund, part of her money in your pocket agenda.5:55She proposed using the Rainy Day Fund, the state's emergency savings.6:00Lawmakers would have to approve payments before any checks could go out.6:03The fund reportedly held twenty-four dollars eight billion dollars.6:07When she announced the plan in July, taking seventeen billion dollars would leave6:13about seven dollars eight billion dollars before other changes.6:17That July snapshot doesn't tell us the fund's current balance.6:21Data centers became another economic dividing line.6:24Residents and local critics worried about electricity costs and demand on the grid.6:30They also challenged water use during drought, secrecy around projects and effects6:34on neighboring communities.6:36Inahosa promised to pause all data center approvals until lawmakers pass6:41protections.6:42Her October pledge tied the pause to legislation.6:46She still has to determine how to use executive authority to carry it out.6:50Her proposals would require union workers and protect community water supplies.6:55She wants limits on secrecy agreements that obscure developments, safeguards against7:00electricity cost increases for other Texans, and an end to data center sales tax7:05subsidies.7:06Abbott had celebrated Google's forty billion dollar investment in Texas cloud and7:11artificial intelligence infrastructure.7:14He called Texas the epicenter of AI development.7:17Then he began imposing pauses as opposition to the facilities grew.7:22Abbott paused new data center grid approvals in August, then environmental7:26permitting on September twenty-one.7:28The grid audit was expected to last until December.7:32Those orders restricted approvals and permits, while existing construction presented7:36a broader set of questions.7:38He demanded information about tax incentives and water use, whether operators7:43supplied their own power or water, and protections against noise and light7:48pollution.7:48He called for operators to fund their electrical infrastructure, use water-efficient7:53technology, and lose tax breaks through legislation.7:57Data center-related donors gave Abbott about nine million dollars since July2025 .8:03Environmental and community advocates later identified thirty-five permitting8:07actions.8:08After his pause and alleged some related permits continued receiving approval, the8:12environmental permitting agency subsequently shut its online filing system.8:17Hinojosa says economic development and protections for Texans can coexist.8:23Turning that promise into durable rules will require defining the reach of her8:27orders and securing legislation.8:30A pause alone leaves residents waiting for the protections she campaigned on.8:34State law requires an apparent winner proclamation by November thirteenth, following8:40the November three election.8:42The final legislative canvas comes later.8:44Hinojosa's expected inauguration is January19,2027 , for a8:50four-year term.8:51Hinojosa said her transition would begin the day after her victory speech.8:56Abbott offered his team's help.8:58Final certified totals, turnout, and the county by county governor results are still9:04being completed.9:05The Secretary of State sends the returns to the House Speaker.9:08Who opens them before both chambers during the session's first week?9:13The legislature sanctions the declaration of the winner.9:16Installation follows the legislature's organization under the state constitution.9:20Hinohusa has won the next administration, while school funding, voucher repeal,9:26and household refunds still need lawmakers' approval.9:30Data center protections need enforceable rules.9:34Abbott remains governor until his successor is installed.閱讀文章事件時間軸HeyDex誰報導了什麼多家媒體報導的要點✓Who won the Texas governor’s race已獨立證實 · 7 家媒體✓Democratic control of the Texas governorship已獨立證實 · 3 家媒體Abbott’s congratulatory call to Hinojosa2
