The November 2 update extends the warning for Lake Montezuma and Rimrock, but repeats an existing home-impact estimate. Road access, return-home authorization and damage remain unresolved.

- An overnight update carries the warning through 8:30 a.m. MST November 2.
- The morning update extends the scheduled endpoint to 2:30 p.m. MST November 2.
The flood warning has a later deadline. A safe way home remains unconfirmed. The National Weather Service’s November 2 morning update extended the scheduled warning for Wet Beaver Creek and Dry Beaver Creek to 2:30 p.m. MST, while still reporting flooded structures and roads closed and impassable around Lake Montezuma and Rimrock. The extension is the new development—not a new count of homes flooded overnight.2
Issued at 7:58 a.m. MST, the Flagstaff office’s update describes continuing flooding caused by excessive rainfall along the creeks in Coconino and Yavapai counties. Its protective instruction remains direct: move to higher ground and do not drive on flooded roads. No verified road-by-road reopening list or safe alternate route has been established for the affected communities.2
HeyDay News reported at 7:23 p.m. MST on November 1 that structures were flooded, roads were impassable and 150 to 200 homes had been reported impacted. The warning then was scheduled through 8:30 that evening. The records now available document an overnight continuation followed by the morning extension, keeping the warning’s scheduled period running into the afternoon.1912
How the warning deadline changed
- November 1, 6:15 p.m. MST19
An NWS Flood Statement continues the Wet Beaver and Dry Beaver Creeks Flood Warning through 8:30 p.m. MST that evening.
- November 1, 8:29 p.m. MST1
An overnight update carries the warning through 8:30 a.m. MST November 2.
- November 2, 7:58 a.m. MST2
The morning update extends the scheduled endpoint to 2:30 p.m. MST November 2.
The overnight notice was issued on November 1, not on the evening of November 2. Its 8:30 a.m. endpoint has been superseded by the morning update’s later deadline. And the earlier heading “Flood Statement” did not describe a different hazard: a Flood Statement can continue an existing Flood Warning. This is a Flood Warning, not a verified Flash Flood Warning.121922
At the 8:15 a.m. MST reporting cutoff on November 2, the morning notice was within its stated validity period. That establishes its scheduled coverage, not a guarantee that no later cancellation or replacement had appeared. A complete subsequent bulletin history was unavailable for independent confirmation.
One impact estimate, not two
The morning warning repeats the estimate of 150 to 200 homes impacted in Lake Montezuma and Rimrock. That figure was already reported on November 1; the overnight alert attributes it to emergency management. It is not another group of homes to add to the earlier estimate, and its repetition does not establish that damage increased overnight.12
The distinction matters because “impacted” is broader than “flooded inside,” “uninhabitable” or “destroyed.” Flooded structures are reported, but there is no verified breakdown showing how many of the affected homes sustained interior flooding, how extensive the damage was or how many are safe to occupy. Arizona’s Family separately reported on November 1 that county officials said floodwaters had overrun multiple homes in Lake Montezuma, without supplying a number or a habitability assessment. That account does not establish an additional tally.218
The newest bridge observation is more recent, but no more conclusive about access. At 7:56 a.m. MST November 2, emergency management reported water six feet below the bridge over Montezuma Avenue. The overnight notice recorded the same separation at 8:28 p.m. MST November 1. Our earlier report carried a six-foot separation at 6:12 p.m. that evening.21
Those are three snapshots, not a continuous record. Matching readings do not establish whether water rose or fell between observations. Nor does the six-foot gap describe water depth on a road or inside a house. The morning report updates when the bridge information was observed; it does not establish that the bridge or its approaches are safe, or that the crossing has reopened.
Evacuation evidence adds a missing instruction
There is a material addition to what our November 1 report could establish about evacuations. A reproduced Yavapai County sheriff message, dated November 1, 2026, at 1440 hours, identifies Rimrock zones YCU-1658 and YCU-1649 for a GO—leave-now order. It names Camp Verde Town Gym as the shelter. That supplies evidence of a Rimrock evacuation instruction that our earlier account had not confirmed.27
The record has a limitation that matters for anyone considering a return: although the message date and issuance record point to November 1, 2026, its effective and onset fields anomalously use 2025. It is evidence of the dated evacuation instruction, not reliable confirmation of its current operational status. The available material does not establish whether the order remains active, whether the shelter remains open or whether officials have authorized residents to return.27
Street-level boundaries for those zones are also unestablished here, as is a Lake Montezuma-specific evacuation order. The message’s administrative expiration must not be read as permission to go home. A dated evacuation record and a current return-home instruction are different things.
What the afternoon deadline cannot settle
For residents, the unresolved questions are practical: which crossings can be used, which roads remain closed, whether an evacuation instruction still applies and whether a damaged home is habitable. A regional flooding report cannot answer those questions for a particular street. Neither can the warning’s scheduled expiration.
The morning warning’s instruction is to seek higher ground and avoid flooded roads. Even when the clock reaches 2:30 p.m. MST, expiration alone will not establish that a road has reopened, a bridge is safe or a flooded house can be occupied. The warning deadline has changed; the evidence needed for a safe return is still incomplete.2

Lake Montezuma flood warning extended to 2:30 p.m. MST
যেভাবে প্রচারিত
- Floodwater keeps roads impassable, and forecasters have extended the warning into the afternoon. Structures are flooded around Lake Montezuma and Rimrock. On November 1, we reported flooding there under a warning scheduled through that evening. What has changed for residents trying to reach their homes safely?
- Wet Beaver Creek and Dry Beaver Creek are still flooding after excessive rainfall. The warning covers the creeks in Coconino and Yavapai counties. Lake Montezuma and Rimrock are the communities where homes have been reported affected.
- The morning update puts the warning's scheduled endpoint at 2:30 this afternoon, Mountain Standard Time. That's the November 2 deadline residents need to distinguish from the earlier evening and overnight endpoints.
- The warning we described November 1 ran through 8:30 that evening. An overnight update carried it through 8:30 the next morning. The November 2 morning update then extended the scheduled period to 2:30 in the afternoon.
- The overnight update was issued on November 1. A summary that placed its issuance on November 2 in the evening had the date wrong. The earlier bulletin's heading, Flood Statement, described a message continuing the same Flood Warning.
- Emergency management reported water six feet below the Montezuma Avenue bridge this morning. Two observations Sunday evening gave the same separation. Those three snapshots don't show whether water rose or fell between them, or whether the crossing is safe.
- The new observation updates the time of the bridge information. Officials haven't announced that the crossing has reopened. The six-foot figure measures the gap below the bridge; it doesn't describe the depth of water on roads or inside houses.
- Emergency managers estimated 150 to 200 homes were impacted around Lake Montezuma and Rimrock. The morning warning repeats that estimate from November 1. It doesn't add another group of homes to the total.
- Flooded structures are part of the damage already described. County officials also said water overran multiple homes in Lake Montezuma, without giving a separate number. The impact estimate doesn't tell residents how many houses flooded inside or how many are safe to occupy.
- The Yavapai County sheriff issued a leave-now order for two Rimrock zones Sunday afternoon. The order named Camp Verde Town Gym as the shelter. Current evacuation and shelter status haven't been confirmed.
- That adds an evacuation instruction for Rimrock to what we knew Sunday evening. Residents still need current local instructions before returning. The order's administrative expiration doesn't authorize people to go home, and street-level zone boundaries aren't available here.
- The morning warning tells people to move to higher ground and avoid driving on flooded roads. Road-by-road reopening information and a safe alternate route haven't been confirmed. A warning ending at 2:30 doesn't make a road passable or a flooded home habitable.
