The lawsuit over DHS taxpayer-funded TV ads
Première diffusion Dernière diffusion

Où en est-on
A federal judge ordered the remaining challenged DHS-funded TV ads canceled and temporarily barred new or expanded agreements to produce, place or air them. The ads continued airing after the order; the latest report says government lawyers forwarded it more than an hour after it was emailed, and agency lawyers learned of it Monday morning. The lawsuit’s resolution remains open.

- JUST IN: A federal judge has temporarily halted the remaining taxpayer-funded television ads featuring President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies and achievements. U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon ruled that Common Cause, Alabama State House candidate Robert Hunter, and SEIU 32BJ and its PAC had standing to challenge the White House ads. The four-page ruling stated the plaintiffs were likely to succeed on the merits and that the block would serve the public interest. The judge also found the plaintiffs would suffer irreparable harm if the order was not granted. Rochon barred the administration from using Department of Homeland Security funds to develop, create, or air the ads and ordered cancellation of those scheduled for Oct. 11.
