As of July 21, floods in Nuristan had killed at least 23 people, injured 80 and left more than 100 missing. Continuing rain and damaged roads hampered rescue efforts; the Afghan Red Crescent was distributing tents and the UN was assessing needs, while the missing, casualties and damage remained unresolved.
