The August 26 glacial collapse and resulting Trishuli River flood have left 1,331 people confirmed dead and more than 5,000 missing, according to Nepal’s disaster authority. Rescuers pulled two people alive from the Upper Trishuli 3A tunnel after nine days, but officials say more than 150 people may remain trapped across six buried tunnels; the rescue and response are still underway.
