  1. Two shooting suspects surrendered to police, ending the search for both adults.
  2. Gunfire hit a Santa Fe home with people inside and a parked vehicle. No one was hurt, and each adult faces four criminal counts.
  3. Why that particular home was struck remains unresolved as the case moves toward court.
  4. Samuel Vicente Perea, 20, of Pecos, and Diego Elijah Bencomo, 19, of Santa Fe, turned themselves in October 25. Police accuse them of taking part in the drive-by shooting in the city's Las Acequias neighborhood.
  5. The shooting happened October 15. Police arrested a 15-year-old suspect the next day. On October 22, both adults were still out of custody. Their October 25 surrender brought them into police hands, nine days after the boy's arrest.
  6. Police filed complaints against the adults October 19. Each reportedly faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied building, tampering with evidence, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Those are accusations that prosecutors must prove.
  7. The exact wording of the shooting charge is unclear. Versions include occupied building, occupied dwelling, and unoccupied dwelling. The filed complaint would settle that discrepancy. People were inside the home that was hit.
  8. Police counted at least 11 bullet casings at the scene. Gunfire struck the home and a parked vehicle, putting the people inside the house in danger. No one was hit, and no injuries were reported.
  9. Both adults were reportedly booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center. Their surrender ended the search for them, while investigators' allegations also relied on a teenager's account of what happened in a pickup.
  10. Investigators connected the 15-year-old boy from Pecos to the shooting by tracking a pickup through neighborhood surveillance cameras. Police arrested him October 16 and booked him into the San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center.
  11. The boy was already in custody when the adults surrendered. He told investigators he drove the pickup while Perea and Bencomo fired at a home. Police included that accusation in affidavits against the adults. His account hasn't been tested in court.
  12. The boy also told officers a girlfriend's former boyfriend had threatened him, and said he himself was the shooting's target. But officers noted that the former boyfriend appeared to live at a different home from the one struck.
  13. Those statements leave the motive unresolved. They don't explain why gunfire hit that particular house, and the boy's claim that he was a target remains his account of the shooting.
  14. The adults' surrender is confirmed, and both were reportedly booked. We don't yet know whether a court has ordered either man held or released, or under what conditions.
