On 17 October 2026, masked settlers reportedly attacked European diplomats and Palestinian olive harvesters in Taybeh, injuring three people and smashing a window in a Belgian consular vehicle. - Read this figure again and again: an average of 10.9 incidents of settler and soldier violence every day. Today, we are publishing data that illustrate the scale of violence directly linked to the olive harvest: * 21 incidents of violence and physical assaults against olive harvesters * 24 incidents in which settlers or soldiers prevented olive harvesting * 75 incidents of crop theft * 22 incidents of damage to and destruction of olive trees * At least 28 incidents in which soldiers were documented as present In total: 109 incidents of settler and soldier violence across 75 Palestinian communities throughout the West Bank in just 10 days. More than 100 cases of violence against Palestinians documented by Yesh Din before the olive harvest season had even officially begun demonstrate that settler and military violence is not random. Rather, it is part of an Israeli policy with a clear objective: to prevent Palestinians from harvesting their olives, inflict economic harm on Palestinian...
- A Morning of Severe Violence Across the West Bank During the Olive Harvest. Yesh Din new data: 486 incidents of settler and soldier violence over 18 days, September 27- October 14, including 234 directly related to the olive harvest. Soldiers were documented as present in at least 62 incidents (26.5% of all incidents of violence directly related to the olive harvest). Video from the village of Turmusaya this morning shows one of the injured Palestinian farmers, a vehicle set on fire, and soldiers at the scene firing crowd-control weapons at Palestinian farmers. Footage credit: Turmusaya Municipality / Yesh Din
- Over the past two weeks (September 27 - October 10), Yesh Din collected documentation and reports of 377 incidents of settler and soldier violence against Palestinians. An average of approximately 27 incidents of violence per day, occurring in 162 Palestinian communities across the West Bank. Of these incidents, 174 were directly related to the olive harvest, and soldiers were present in 25% of them. The lack of law enforcement against violent settlers and soldiers who attack Palestinian olive harvesters, damage olive trees, and steal the harvest indicates that the obstruction of the olive harvest is part of a broader, systematic Israeli policy aimed at inflicting economic and cultural harm on Palestinians and displacing them from their land.
- Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot slammed “in the strongest terms” today’s attack by Israeli settlers on European diplomats in the village of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank, and vowed to press the European Union to impose sanctions on those responsible.

- As an Israeli, I apologise for this shameful attack on diplomats performing their diplomatic duties.
- Belgian FM Maxime Prevot strongly condemns an attack by masked illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinians, diplomats and Catholic representatives in Taybeh in the occupied West Bank. Mohammed Elwan has more from Ramallah
- 🇦🇪 I express my full solidarity with and support to the people of the United Arab Emirates, who have been again today the victims of unjustified Iranian attacks. I condemn what is a clear violation of international law. Territorial integrity of the Gulf countries must be respected. Iran should seize the opportunity of talks to find a comprehensive solution. We all have an interest in peace in the Middle East. @BelgiumMFA

- Masked Israeli settlers armed with clubs attacked a European diplomatic delegation in the Palestinian town of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank today, as the diplomats attended the Palestinian olive harvest. The settlers, who arrived on ATVs, surrounded the convoy, which included the French consul and Belgian and Polish diplomats, demanded their identification, and smashed the window of a Belgian consulate vehicle. French mayor Bernard Baudoux was beaten in the attack. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot condemned it “in the strongest terms” and vowed to press the EU for sanctions on those responsible.

- Israel’s Foreign Minister Gidon Saar on the events in Taybeh earlier today: “I strongly condemn the severe acts of violence by Israeli rioters in the area of Taybeh. “A police investigation has been opened, and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are already at the scene collecting evidence. “The Foreign Ministry is in contact with the ambassadors of the countries concerned in order to assist the law enforcement authorities, who are working to identify the attackers and bring them to justice. “Without detracting from the severity of the incident, it is unfortunate that the visit was not coordinated with the IDF in advance. Such coordination could have helped safeguard the visitors’ security.” @prevotmaxime @BelgiumMFA
- 🚨 IDF CONDEMNS RIOTERS’ ATTACK ON DIPLOMATS IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA The IDF condemned the attack on diplomatic representatives near Taybeh. Police and forensic investigators have launched an investigation. The IDF says the consulate’s visit was uncoordinated, no soldiers were present, and the circumstances surrounding the incident will be examined.
- Illegal Israeli settlers set fire to three vehicles and assaulted Palestinian olive harvesters in the occupied West Bank village of Turmus Ayya, leaving at least one person with a head injury. Settler violence has surged since the start of the annual olive harvest, with Israeli monitoring group Yesh Din recording more than 170 attacks since late September. Rights groups say the expansion of illegal settlements and the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government have emboldened such attacks across the occupied territory
- Settlers attacked a Palestinian farmer and his son with clubs while they were harvesting olives near the village of Beita, in Area B, south of Nablus. The olive harvest season in the West Bank officially begins tomorrow, yet Yesh Din has already documented unprecedented levels of violence against Palestinians: 377 incidents in 14 days. Footage courtesy: Beita Municipality
- Sanctions now! "Belgium will continue to press for EU sanctions against those responsible for this violence and those who support them."
- 🇧🇪 Breaking: Belgian FM Maxime Prévot announces Belgium will recognize Palestine at the upcoming UN session and impose 12 “firm sanctions” on Israel — banning settlement goods, restricting consular aid to settlers, and blacklisting extremist ministers. He writes: “Belgium will recognize Palestine during the joint initiative of France and Saudi Arabia — a strong political and diplomatic gesture to preserve the prospects for a two-state solution and to condemn Israel’s expansionist ambitions through settlement programs and military occupation. Palestine will therefore be clearly recognized as a fully-fledged state on the international stage by Belgium. Out of respect for the trauma suffered by the Israeli people during Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attacks, the formal administrative recognition — by royal decree — will take place when the last hostage has been freed and Hamas no longer assumes any governance role in Palestine.“
- RT @prevotmaxime: 🇵🇸 I condemn in the strongest terms the attack by masked settlers in Taybeh, in the occupied West Bank, against Palestini…
- Israel’s FM Gideon Saar claimed the European officials’ visit to Taybeh village in the occupied West Bank was not coordinated with the Israeli army, following an attack by Israeli settlers. 🔴 LIVE updates: https://aje.news/7ythp7
- I strongly condemn the severe acts of violence by Israeli rioters in the area of Taybeh. A police investigation has been opened, and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are already at the scene collecting evidence. The Foreign Ministry is in contact with the ambassadors of the countries concerned in order to assist the law enforcement authorities, who are working to identify the attackers and bring them to justice. Without detracting from the severity of the incident, it is unfortunate that the visit was not coordinated with the IDF in advance. Such coordination could have helped safeguard the visitors’ security.
- This statement is a lie. For evidence, look at what IDF soldiers did this morning in the southern West Bank: they provided protection for a settler terror attack in which dozens of sheep were stolen and Palestinians were attacked with live fire.
- They deliberately didn't coordinate with the IDF because they came to provoke.
- The IDF strongly condemns the severe act of violence that took place in the area of Taybeh, during which diplomatic representatives were attacked by Israeli rioters. Police forces and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are entering the area accompanied by IDF soldiers and will begin collecting findings and evidence, as well as taking testimonies, in support of an investigation that has been opened. The consulate's visit was not coordinated with the IDF. Such coordination is important to prevent incidents of this kind. According to a preliminary inquiry, no IDF soldiers were present at the scene at the time of the attack. The report was sent to the brigade operations room, which is designated to receive reports from security personnel only, and not from civilians. The operations room receives dozens of operational reports each day and responds only to authorized personnel, not civilians. It should be emphasized that other designated channels are available for ...
- That no IDF soldiers were present says so much. A goat can’t eat a blade of grass in that area without being under scrutiny and you didn’t see the incident or even its build up… #IsraelTerroristState
- The IDF just sits by and watches as these disgusting, sadistic crimes are committed. And the whole world knows it. https://x.com/infinite_jaz/status/2111450016942371033?s=20
- After blaming the American journalist who was attacked by Israeli settler terrorists yesterday, Netanyahu is today also blaming EU diplomats for visiting Taybeh and being attacked by settler terrorists. Once again, he calls the attack “alleged,” even though we have it on video.
- Netanyahu’s office on Taybeh attack: It’s too early to draw conclusions, especially amid smear campaign against settlers https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/netanyahus-office-on-taybeh-attack-its-too-early-to-draw-conclusions-especially-amid-smear-campaign-against-settlers/
- Israel's foreign minister, army, president, and opposition leader all acknowledged the attack by masked settlers on European diplomats and a French mayor in Taybeh, with Eisenkot calling it "Jewish terror" Netanyahu's office instead blamed the victims, saying the delegation entered a "sensitive area" without coordinating with the army. https://t.co/qBUF3zLURY
- 🇵🇸 Israeli settlers carried out more than 200 attacks against Palestinians during the current olive harvest season in the occupied West Bank, surpassing the 185 recorded in the 2025 season, the UN said Thursday. Approximately 80% of incidents have occurred over the past two weeks. The attacks have killed at least four Palestinians since the harvest began, the Associated Press reported. More than 120 others have been wounded in the attacks, which have damaged over 2,500 olive trees and saplings. Israeli settlers attack Palestinian olive harvesters across other areas of the occupied West Bank, injuring three: 🔹 Nablus: Three Palestinians were injured after settlers assaulted them while harvesting olives in Asira Al-Qibliya on Friday, WAFA reported. Settlers also stole olives from farmland in Aqraba and Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, where Israeli soldiers separately expelled farmers and confiscated their harvest. 🔹 Salfit: Settlers attacked olive harvesters west of Deir Ballut and...
- This year, too, the army and police are neglecting their duty to ensure that the olive harvest in the West Bank can take place safely and to protect Palestinian harvesters from settler attacks. In the first two weeks of October, Yesh Din field researchers documented 33 incidents of settler violence related to the olive harvest in the West Bank. These included violent assaults on Palestinian harvesters, threats and obstruction of harvesting, theft of olives and equipment, and the uprooting of hundreds of olive trees. In 11 of the incidents, soldiers or settlers wearing military uniforms were present at the scene - either standing idly by or actively assisting the attacking settlers. Four additional Incidents were documented in which soldiers prevented Palestinians from harvesting olives on their own land. - Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters near Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Israeli attacks on farmland in September affected 14,600 trees, including 9,334 olive trees, according to a Palestinian Authority commission. 🔴 LIVE updates: https://aje.news/x7vu51
- As a reminder, these are the settlers that Netanyahu repeatedly describes as "juvenile delinquents." From Reuters: Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has surged, with at least 170 attacks since September 27, around the start of the annual olive harvest, according to Yesh Din, an Israeli settlements monitoring group. https://t.co/awF13eRfLB
