  4. The helicopter was largely destroyed. Photographs showed its wreckage lying on a lawn. The losses were confined to those aboard the aircraft.
  5. No civilians were injured in the crash. EUFOR also says civilian buildings, property and vehicles escaped damage. The emergency response centered on the people who had been aboard the helicopter.
  6. Brčko district mayor Siniša Milić initially gave a toll of three dead and twelve people receiving care. He later confirmed that an injured person had died in hospital. EUFOR's updated count is four dead and eleven injured.
  7. The first three deaths were pronounced at the scene, and twelve injured people were taken to hospital. Hospital spokesperson Salih Ibrahimbegović said one seriously injured patient was undergoing surgery.
  8. Milić had described one of the twelve patients as critical. Officials haven't said whether the person who died in hospital was that patient.
  9. Two of those killed were members of the Italian Armed Forces. Two belonged to the Italian Red Cross Military Corps. The Red Cross personnel were serving in its military corps when the training flight ended in the crash.
  10. Fifteen people were aboard the helicopter. The four deaths and eleven surviving injured people account for everyone on board. The earlier twelve patients were part of that same group.
  11. Two injured personnel were transferred to Tuzla, while nine were treated in Brčko. Together, they make up the eleven surviving injured people. EUFOR's latest assessment describes all eleven as stable, with medical treatment continuing.
  12. EUFOR's mission numbers 1,200 soldiers. It took over from NATO in 2004 to help maintain security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its work includes overseeing the military provisions of the peace agreement that ended the country's 1992–95 war.
  13. The helicopter was carrying out routine training when it crashed. EUFOR says a “thorough and complete” investigation is underway. Investigators haven't identified the cause. Their findings will have to explain what brought the aircraft down and whether changes are needed to prevent another loss.
