  3. On October 29, we reported that the specialist ship Pharos was due to deploy from October 30. The operation has now moved through a survey and examinations of two targets, with nothing found at either.
  4. The two sites were east of the Butt of Lewis, at the island's northern end. Pharos identified them during a weekend survey. By November 2, both had emerged as places needing further investigation.
  5. Investigators examined both sites and found no trace of Kilda. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch carried out the examinations with help from fish-farming company Mowi. The search now continues without a location for the missing vessel.
  6. Kilda disappeared on October 13 with three men aboard. Search teams recovered the body of their crewmate Douglas Craigie the following day. Murray and Morrison are still unaccounted for, leaving their families waiting for news of where they are.
  7. Pharos carries equipment for mapping the seabed and surveying wrecks. The Northern Lighthouse Board vessel was brought in to support the search and accident investigation. Its survey gave investigators two places to examine, but both examinations came back empty.
  8. The maritime exclusion zone has been lifted, while the accident branch's preliminary assessment continues. That leaves investigators still examining the loss of Kilda, and police still working to find the vessel and the two missing men.
  9. Police Scotland Inspector Neil Taylor thanked the partners supporting the search, including Pharos and staff from Mowi. He said his thoughts remained with everyone affected by the tragedy.
  10. Police Scotland is continuing the search with the accident branch, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and local maritime experts. Their task remains locating Kilda, Norman Murray and Murdo Morrison after the two investigated sites yielded no trace.
