- Gunfire killed a man in South Bend.
- Police are investigating his death on East Ireland Road, where he died at the scene. It's still unclear whether an earlier hospital transport after an Ireland Road shooting involved the same victim.
- Police were called to the 900 block of East Ireland Road shortly before two thirty Sunday morning, November first. That's the approximate call time. The location given for the fatal shooting extends only to the block.
- One man died at the scene after being shot. His name hasn't been released. South Bend Police are investigating, and the circumstances leading to the gunfire are still unclear.
- An earlier dispatch call came at two twenty-three that morning for a shooting outside Long John Silvers on Ireland Road. One person was taken to hospital, and the severity of their injuries wasn't known.
- The restaurant location hasn't been confirmed as the place where the man died. The fatal shooting's location remains the 900 block of East Ireland Road.
- A death at the scene and a hospital transport leave an unresolved difference in the emergency response. We don't know whether they concern the same victim or separate responses. The hospital transport doesn't tell us what happened to the man who died.
- Police were also investigating two other cases elsewhere in the city that morning. Those cases involved a juvenile who survived a shooting and a man who died after being stabbed.
- The juvenile was shot in the 700 block of South 32nd Street and hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury. Minutes later, police received a medical assist call in the 600 block of South Liberty Street, where a man had been stabbed. He died.
- For the East Ireland Road shooting, who fired and whether anyone has been detained are still unclear. The information number listed for South Bend Police's investigations is 574-235-9263.
