枪手已经死亡，警方能查明三名同事为何遭到袭击吗？那名幸存员工的情况又如何？2026年9月30日，弗吉尼亚州马纳萨斯的联合租赁公司（United Rentals）发生枪击案，随后展开的搜寻行动已经结束。但对于那些留下来的人来说，最重要的问题仍未得到答案。

  1. A United Rentals employee shot three coworkers, killing two. The attacker later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, ending the manhunt, while one worker remained hospitalized. Why were these coworkers attacked, and what is known about the worker who survived?
  2. The shooting happened on the morning of September 30, 2026, at 9415 Wellington Road in Manassas, Virginia. Marvin Grant, 37, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was a coworker of the three people he shot. His death on Interstate 81 in Augusta County ended the search, but it did not establish a motive or resolve the surviving worker’s prognosis.
  3. Ricky Lamot, 48, and Christopher Serrano, 33, were the two men killed. Lamot’s surname is spelled L-A-M-O-T, not Lamont. The employer’s name is United Rentals, not United Rents. Both corrections matter to identifying the people and workplace involved. The surviving coworker’s name had not been publicly released in the September 30 accounts.
  4. Grant allegedly warned a coworker immediately before the gunfire that three people were going to die, then produced a handgun and shot three coworkers. That warning is not a verified word-for-word quotation. Three people were threatened; two coworkers died, and one survived. The warning does not explain why Grant attacked them or establish how he selected the people he shot. The nature of a possible altercation, and any underlying grievance, remain unknown.
  5. Multiple active-shooter calls brought officers to the workplace at about seven in the morning. That is an approximate response time, not an established time for the first shot. A State Police lookout alert followed at approximately eight twenty. That later time marks the alert alone: it does not establish when cellphone tracking began, when a vehicle was stopped, or when Grant died. Neither time supports a minute-by-minute reconstruction of the attack and search.
  6. The initial vehicle description allowed two possibilities: a gray Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla with temporary North Carolina registration tags. It was not a definitive identification of the car. An alleged change of vehicle tags between midnight and that morning has not been independently confirmed. The earlier and later registration numbers, the reason for a change, and its timing are not established. A tag change cannot be treated as proof that the shooting was planned in advance.
  7. Authorities used Grant’s cellphone number to obtain his location while he traveled southbound on Interstate 81. Virginia State Police located him in Augusta County, away from the workplace attack in Manassas. The county and interstate are established; the exact stopping point, exit, and mile marker are not. Nor is the time of his death established.
  8. Grant died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Whether the highway encounter unfolded as a pursuit followed by a traffic stop and standoff, or in another sequence, remains unresolved. It is also unknown whether any officer fired a weapon. The established cause of Grant’s death does not answer that separate question.
  9. Lamot and Serrano died from their injuries, but their hospital destination remains unresolved between Fairfax Hospital and Prince William Hospital. There is no documented transfer between those hospitals. A transfer cannot be assumed to reconcile the difference, and the hospital uncertainty does not change the established loss of two workers.
  10. One coworker survived and remained hospitalized, but the descriptions of that worker’s condition differ between critical and stable. Early descriptions placed all three victims in critical condition, including one published at twelve twenty-eight p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. A stable-condition description carried a two thirty-six p.m. update, but its timezone and the time of the medical assessment are not established. Publication times are not patient-assessment times. The difference does not establish an improvement, a change in terminology, or an error. Neither recovery nor readiness to leave the hospital has been established.
  11. For Lamot, a youth-football coaching role and a personal connection to a local sheriff remain uncorroborated. No team, coaching organization, sheriff’s name, or exact statement has been verified. Serrano’s life outside the workplace is also not established.
  12. The reason these coworkers were attacked remains unknown. The surviving worker remained hospitalized, with identity and prognosis undisclosed. No independently examined forensic reconstruction or complete police-release text is available to resolve the hospital difference or the full highway chronology. Grant’s death ended the immediate manhunt; no verified motive has emerged.
