  1. On September 23 we reported a fuel fire. Now Saudi forces are striking depots.
  2. An international airport is reportedly closed, and both sides are warning civilians to leave sites threatened with attack. Fuel workers, passengers and nearby residents face the consequences. How far has this latest exchange gone, and what could happen next?
  3. Saudi Arabia struck fuel facilities near Sana’a and at Ras Isa port on October 13. The Sana’a target was Al-Sabaha Central Station, a state oil-company facility west of the capital. Ras Isa lies on Yemen’s Red Sea coast.
  4. The strikes followed deadly Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. But the immediate sequence in Sana’a began with an evacuation warning. The Saudi-led coalition told civilians near the oil facility to leave and published a map identifying the site.
  5. Coalition spokesman General Turki al-Maliki warned of operations without specifying their type. Residents and Houthi-run media then described strikes in Sana’a. Explosions followed shortly after the evacuation order, and smoke was described over the station.
  6. The Yemeni Oil Company says the depot’s storage facilities were empty. The facility also appears under the name Central Sabaha Station, and the company is sometimes called Yemen Petroleum Company. Those names refer to the same fuel facility west of Sana’a.
  7. The strikes at Ras Isa reportedly came in ten waves. That count is not yet confirmed. At Sana’a, the oil company says its fuel stores were empty. Nobody has said how much the strikes damaged or whether anyone was harmed at either depot.
  8. The company’s statement covers its storage facilities. It leaves open whether workers were elsewhere in the complex. Smoke over the station also tells us little about fuel losses or damaged equipment. And an evacuation warning alone can’t tell us whether everyone managed to leave.
  9. King Khalid airport was attacked on October 10, then again on October 11. Saudi Arabia says the Sunday strike killed one Pakistani national and injured 11 people. The deadly October attacks came weeks after September’s airport fuel-depot fire.
  10. Saturday’s attack killed a reported 13 people and injured 300, but another death count gives 12. Across the weekend, the reported toll is at least 13 dead and 309 injured. A broader attack sequence carries a reported minimum of 18 deaths.
  11. The broader sequence includes four reported airport strikes in five days. The 18 deaths haven’t been assigned to individual strikes or locations. These figures overlap, so adding them would risk counting people twice. The weekend figures also can’t be treated as a confirmed revision of Saturday’s toll.
  12. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree told employees and civilians near Saudi oil facilities to evacuate. He called those facilities “a legitimate target.” The threatened locations include Aramco facilities in Dhahran and Riyadh, and King Khalid International Airport.
  13. The Houthis also threatened Riyadh’s airport and an Aramco refinery if the coalition struck Sana’a. Their wider airport warning told passengers not to travel and excluded Mecca and Medina. That exception was attached to the airport threat.
  14. The Houthis have threatened further attacks, while fresh launch claims and coalition interception claims continue. Their sequence is unclear. Nobody has confirmed that an attack on the three named Saudi sites carried out this particular warning.
  15. Saree’s words express a military claim about the targets. Any attack still has to distinguish civilians and civilian infrastructure from military objectives. Warning people to leave doesn’t remove that obligation. Airport workers and passengers remain exposed alongside people living near fuel installations.
  16. Near Taiz, Houthi forces reportedly moved close enough to fire rockets into residential areas. Along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, a rapid offensive has also been described, including a claim of control over the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
  17. The extent of that claimed control is still unclear. The reported pressure around populated areas adds a land-war dimension to the airport attacks and depot strikes.
  18. On September 20, we reported a fire near the airport, disrupted flights and a Houthi responsibility claim while the cause remained unconfirmed. On September 23, we reported the September 19 barrage, a burning fuel tank and no reported casualties at that depot.
  19. The October airport attacks and Saudi depot strikes show that the exchange continued. The latest warnings extend the threatened sites further. What happens next depends on whether those threats become attacks or the sides move toward de-escalation.
  20. King Khalid International Airport is reported closed through at least Saturday, October 17. That keeps a major international airport unavailable for normal operations. October 17 is the minimum reported closure period. A reopening time hasn’t been announced.
